Terms and Conditions
If you are interested in commissioning a portrait or purchasing an Original, then I would love to hear from you. I do not use contracts when working with clients, but I will ask that you kindly read through the following information before placing your order. Once I have received confirmation that you have done so, I will be able to book your Commission onto the waiting list, or process your purchase of Original Artwork.
If you have any queries or issues regarding the following information, then please feel free to contact me.
Commissions
The prices given are final and non-negotiable, and do not include delivery charges. Prices are subject to change (unless a deposit has been paid, in which case the quoted price remains the same).
If I have an offer available at any time, I will notify you at the time of ordering. However, if a deposit has not been received for a pending order during the timescale of the offer, then that order will be subject to usual prices.
I accept payment via PayPal, Bank Transfer, Cheque (UK only), Gift Voucher or cash on collection of completed work.
Due to complications in the past, a non-refundable deposit of 25%* of the portrait value is required on confirmation of an order. I will not start an order until I have received the deposit, and the remainder of the payment will be due on completion of the work. Where required, payment in installments can be discussed before confirmation of an order. Once a deposit has been paid, the price of that portrait will not change.
***The completed portrait will not be released until full payment has been received.
Gift vouchers
Gift vouchers can be purchased at any value between £30 and the total value of any required piece and must be redeemed within two years of purchase. Any outstanding payment is due on completion of the portrait. These cannot be exchanged for money or credit, and any spoiled or defaced gift vouchers will be declared void. Gift vouchers are only for use with ‘Evoke Fine Art by Josi Spiccelli’.
Changes to Artwork / Cancellation of an Order
I will try my very best to ensure that the client is happy with everything about the portrait before I start work, and to ensure this I will send (via Email or Messenger) the sketched outline of the drawing for approval before continuing. I will then work very closely with the client, sending several updates throughout the progress of the portrait to ensure that the client remains happy.
Should any changes need to be made after I have started work on a portrait then the time-scale and price of the piece may be affected.
Completed Commissions
When I have completed a portrait I will email an image to the client for absolute approval before asking for the remainder of the payment. As soon as the outstanding balance has been cleared, the portrait will be released.
If, on receipt of a portrait, the client is not fully satisfied with the quality of my work then they must notify me as soon as possible. The portrait must be returned in its original packaging within 14 days, and a refund will be given for 75% of the value of the work. The client will be liable for any delivery charges.
All portraits come with a Certificate of Authenticity and a Care Leaflet as standard.
Delivery
I will accept commissions and deliver worldwide. The client will be accountable for any extra charges or import obligations that may apply outside of the UK. Delivery charges are not included in the price list. A quote for this can be given at time of ordering, and may vary with location.
I use Royal Mail or Parcelforce when delivering my portraits, and all items can be tracked with delivery confirmation. Items are also fully covered for loss or damage. Tracking information will be provided once the portrait has been dispatched.
Privacy
Your privacy is very important to me, and any personal information you give me will not be used in any way other than to contact you with regards to any inquiries you have made about my work, or to discuss an order, and will not be passed on to third parties.
Feedback from Clients
Any comments or feedback I receive from you may be used by myself for promotional purposes. If you do not want your comments to be used then please inform me at the time of ordering.
Copyrights
I, the artist, retain the copyrights and reproduction rights on all the artwork that I create, including commission work. Images of commissioned work may be used for promotional and advertising purposes by the artist. However, I will not reproduce any commissioned work in any form of print or merchandise for profit.
If you would prefer for images of your commissioned artwork not to be used for promotional purposes then please inform me at time of ordering.
The client must not reproduce or permit anyone else to reproduce the commissioned artwork, by print or any other form, without the written permission of myself.
Photographs
I am happy to work from up to several photographs, but generally I will work from one main photograph. However any chance I have to meet the subject in person can be hugely beneficial. If a photograph has been taken by a professional photographer, then I cannot use it as a reference image without written consent by the photographer.
*The purpose of the deposit is to secure your place on the waiting list, and also to cover the cost of any materials / time spent on a portrait should you decide to terminate a confirmed order.
Thank you very much for your interest in my work, and I look forward to studying your beautiful pets.
